Steve Gavatorta,
President


Steve Gavatorta, Founder and President of the Steve Gavatorta Group, specializes in helping individuals and organizations identify, develop and exceed their performance goals.

With a vast 19 year career in Fortune 500 companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Warner-Lambert and Eastman Kodak as well as 4-years as an entrepreneur in the “people-development” business, Steve has coached, trained and developed hundreds of high performance individuals and teams in maximizing their full potential.

This diverse cross-functional experience in Corporate America, as a business owner and his background in athletics gives him a unique advantage in understanding and solving for his clients’ specific needs.

Steve believes goals are built on a solid foundation of fundamentals and principles. So he follows a proven process that first assists his clients in building that foundation then set goals accordingly. Once the foundation is in place and goals are set, he systematically helps them eclipse their highest potential. For those who have the foundation in place, he coaches and trains them to transcend their previous performance levels. His philosophy can be simply stated by the following ancient proverb.

“Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day, teach a person how to fish
and you feed them for a lifetime.”

His approach is process driven and focuses on very practical, tailored and proven strategies that lead to “real world” application. The methods include public speaking, one-on-one coaching and group workshop formats – the format will depend upon each individual client need. The client mix is broad, diverse and includes corporations, individuals, professionals, small business owners, entrepreneurs and athletic teams.

Steve is a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA), Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA) and is accredited to coach and train for Emotional Intelligence (EQ). He is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and a recommended resource for The Network of Executive Women (NEW). He holds a degree in Economics from Allegheny College where he was voted to the schools All-Century Football Team. In his spare time he is active in the community. He is also a former board member and speaker for the Tampa based non-profit organization S.E.R.V.E. as well as Big Brothers.


Steve’s book, Powering Up Your Mental GPS™—How to Navigate Your Life Towards the Success, Prosperity & Mastery You Desire, is due for release in early 2008.
